This Privacy Policy explains how BrowserScan ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use browserscan.one (the "Site"). We have written it to be readable rather than to hide behind legalese, because privacy is the entire point of what we build.
Our core principle
The tools on this Site are designed to run client-side — that is, entirely within your own browser. When you run a test such as the browser fingerprint or font detection, the measurements are taken and displayed on your device. Those results are not transmitted to us, and we do not store them.
Information you provide directly
The Site has no accounts, logins or sign-up forms. The only time you actively send us information is if you choose to email us at contact@browserscan.one. In that case we receive your email address and whatever you write, and we use it solely to respond to you.
The one deliberate exception: IP lookup
Determining your public IP address cannot be done inside your browser alone — by definition an external service has to tell you how your connection appears from the internet. So when, and only when, you use the IP address tool (or another tool that shows your public IP), your browser makes a request to a third-party IP geolocation provider. That provider necessarily receives your IP address in order to answer. We label this clearly on the tool itself. If you do not run those tools, no such request is made.
Information collected automatically
Like almost all websites, our hosting and content-delivery providers may automatically record standard technical log data when you visit — such as your IP address, browser type, referring page and the time of your request. This is routine server information used for security, reliability and aggregate statistics, and is common to essentially every site on the web.
Cookies and similar technologies
BrowserScan does not set its own tracking cookies. Some tools may use your browser's local storage temporarily to function (for example, to remember a setting during your visit), and that data stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Advertising
There is no advertising on this Site. We run no ad network, no ad server and no advertising or tracking cookies of any kind, so there is nothing here to opt out of. The Site is free to use and does not need to fund itself from your attention.
Third-party services we rely on
To keep the Site functional we use a small number of reputable third parties, each governed by its own privacy policy:
- Google Fonts — to serve the two typefaces the Site is set in. Your browser requests the font files directly from Google's servers, so Google sees your IP address and user agent for that request. No cookie is set.
- IP geolocation providers — invoked only when you run an IP-related tool, as described above.
- Hosting and content delivery — to serve the Site's pages reliably.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data, such as the rights to access, correct or delete it, or to opt out of its sale or sharing. Because we hold almost no personal data ourselves, most requests are best directed at the third parties above. You can also control cookies through your browser settings and send privacy signals such as Global Privacy Control, which you can check with our Do Not Track test. For any request involving us directly, email contact@browserscan.one.
Children's privacy
The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will address it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be reflected on this page, and your continued use of the Site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
